Re: My Mosaic

sure thing @Bow what's some of your fav things to do on the couch/bed? do you and D make pillow forts/castles?

i'm feeling a lil tired and tense. i used to exercise/move around a lot more but i've hardly been out to the gym or gone for walks this winter, too coldddd! i'm gonna try push myself today tho, even if it's for 2 mins, i guess 2 mins will be better than nothing?

Re: My Mosaic

Just doing some colouring in on the couch @rav3n  D came out complaining she was bored. Kaiser craft do colouring pages every school holidays so we picked up some recently.

im also working on some Lego brickheadz. I got a pack of Alice in wonderland ones but only got one tweedle Dee/dumb. Cause I had the list of pieces and instructions I rummaged through our Lego crates to find the pieces I needed… but couldn’t find all the right colours so have been painting them 😳 nearly finished.

It’s real cold here today. And I totally get not moving your body as much.

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow oo i haven't heard of Kaiser Craft colouring books, sounds like a nice activity for the holidays!

omg nooo hate when the lil pieces go missing! but love that you're painting them in, would love to see how it turns out! i know you love book stores and collecting books, do you also read a lot at the moment or more of a collector?

Re: My Mosaic

There not colouring books, just sheets @rav3n  i think you can upload them to instagram and have the chance to win a prize. D just like to colour in.

nah I don’t read. I love books. I really wish I read. But my brain doesn’t allow it. I read a paragraph and get to the end and need to read again. Although I haven’t tried reading really since being on adhd medication and it’s suppose to help yeah?  So yeah I mostly just collect Alice books.
do you like to read?

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow ohhhh yep, colouring sheets! is D still into puppet-making?

i used to read heaps when i was younger, but in the last 5 years or so, i've found it really hard to stay focused on a book - i also would re-read the same paragraph multiple times, and my brain just wouldn't absorb anything. i read better when i've got an audiobook playing at the same time. have you heard of bionic reading? i feel like if my books were converted to the bionic version, i'd be able to read better.

i loveeee just being in bookstores though. the smell of the books, the looking at all the pretty book covers. i used to buy lots of fantasy/romance books... which unfortunately are just collecting dust on my shelves. do you have an all-time fav bookstore?

Re: My Mosaic

Yep @rav3n  D still makes dragon puppets!

Hmmm no I haven’t heard of bionic reading. Will have to look it up.

I look to wander book stores too. Books are so pretty. And they hold so much wonder and information. I really like dymocks in the city. It’s like 4 levels. So many books to look at. I also really loved some of the second hand book stores we visited last week. There’s just something about a second hand book. Like the history of it. Who’s read it before you. Where did they get it from? Was it a gift? I love it when there is a hand written message inside the cover.

Re: My Mosaic

D's so cool! i remember having to make puppets apart of an assignment once and i struggled so much with just making a normal character... a dragon would take a lot more skill!

the dymocks i've visited were smaller, but 4 floors!? that would be amazing to explore. there really is a special type of beauty and power in books that get passed on and shared. you know how library books have that card at the back to keep track of who's borrowed them? i used to enjoy looking through that as well haha. i even had a family friend pass down some second hand textbooks to me and she accidentally left a hand written note in there... i never would've found it (i had no intentions on reading the textbook) if i hadn't accidentally dropped the book. now i love flipping through books in case there's a lil treasure hehe
